John M. Harnett was educated in New York City. He earned his J.D. degree in 1978 from St. John's University. His undergraduate work earned him a B.A. from Fordham University. Mr. Harnett joined the firm of Lovett and Linder in 1980 and is the principal owner of the successor firm of Lovett Schefrin Harnett. He is a past President of the Rhode Island Trial Lawyers' Association (1998-1999) and a current member of the Rhode Island Bar Association, Workers' Compensation Committee and The Association of Trial Lawyers of America. Mr. Harnett concentrates in Workers' Compensation and Personal Injury Law. He represents injured workers at the trial and appellate level, as well as the Rhode Island Supreme Court. He has been named in RI Monthly Magazine as one of Rhode Island's top fifty lawyers and Rhode Islands Top Workers' Compensation Attorney. Mr. Harnett is AV Peer Review Rated and licensed in Rhode Island, Massachusetts and New York.
